Detoxifying Your Body From The Outside In

We often talk about supplements and cleansers we can take to detoxify our bodies from the inside out but you should also consider detoxifying your body from the outside in.

The Toxins That Invade Us

From the day we are born… No, even before we are born, toxins are attacking our bodies.

Be prepared now for study figures I am going to give you. They can be frightening.

The Environmental Working Group started a study at 2 laboratories. They found that the blood from the umbilical cords of 10 babies had an average of 200 chemicals and pollutants. They found:

  • pesticides

  • product chemicals

  • waste from the burning of coal, garbage and fuel

All this before the baby came out of the womb.

So we are receiving toxins into our systems daily. These toxins just vegetate in our cells and fat tissue and they probably are prime factors in many of the diseases we have in this world.

So How Do We Battle These Toxins?

But today, we are going to look at some simple ways you can battle the toxins from the outside. And it will also be enjoyable.

Take A Bath

That is right!

Taking a bath is the way to detoxify your body, but not just any bath.

Add a liberal amount of Epsom Salt to your bath water

Epsom Salt looks like salt but it is actually a mineral. It is magnesium sulfate and the power of magnesium is wonderful. The magnesium will soak into your pores and work its way to your bloodstream where it will defeat the toxins congregating in cells and fat tissue.

Many people ask, “Why not just take magnesium orally?”

Good question!

The digestive process makes the magnesium not work to the same level as it will through an entrance that bypasses your digestive system.

The fact is: many detox methods used by professionals are designed with the use of magnesium. It is much more cost effective to just purchase Epsom Salt at the store and take a bath.

So not only does this method detoxify your body, it relieves stress and anxiety, and has also been linked to migraine reduction.

For Maximum Effect

Bentonite Clay is another item you will want to add to your Epsom Salt bath.

This volcanic ash clay acts as an avenue to rid the toxins the Epsom Salt caught and destroyed; the Bentonite Clay swells and traps the toxins and takes them out of your body.

It works essentially like a magnet because it has a negative charge while the toxins have positive charges.

Add Some Baking Soda

Baking Soda is another natural detoxifier.

It will help rid items the Epsom Salt didn’t catch.

Just consider the fact that Baking Soda catches odors in the refrigerator and some mechanics have used it to clean battery posts. If it can clean those items so well, it will also cleanse toxins from our bodies.

Now for a nice scent

You probably would like to come out of that wonderful detoxification bath with a nice scent.

This is where you can use essential oils. Just add 6 drops of rose essential oil, or frankincense essential oil, or both.

Or another great mixture is 6 drops of lemon essential oil with 6 drops of orange essential oil.

Many also add 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil too.

Final thoughts

It just makes me feel like taking a detox bath now.

Why pay huge amounts of money at a spa for a detox when you can do so with ingredients you can purchase and just take a bath?

Detoxifying Your Body In Safe Ways

detoxifyingEvery day, we come in contact with multiple sources of toxins. Many of the diseases and conditions humans are attacked with are a direct result of toxins. Just to name a few:

  • Secondhand cigarette smoke

  • Vehicle exhaust

  • Burning plastics

  • Dust and pollens

  • Paint fumes

  • Mold

  • Cleaning chemicals

  • and more

Some people have an assumption that these toxins will leave our bodies naturally. In part, that assumption is true, but only partially so. Remnants of these toxins can store in our fat cells, and these toxins are the cause of such terrible conditions like cancer, Alzheimer’s and many other diseases.

Now, don’t get me wrong; I am not trying to put you in a “fear factor,” and telling you to hide in a bubble. We need to live life, but we should also be proactive in ridding our bodies of these toxins.

gas maskAs a matter of fact, coming in contact with these toxins can actually force our bodies to build a resistance to the bad effects they can cause. We can help this resistance with how we treat our bodies.

There are many products on the market that claim they offer a safe detoxifying method. While some of these may be safe, I suggest you be diligent about studying what ingredients are used. Using 1 chemical to get rid of another chemical seems like an oxymoron.

Here are some safe detoxifying methods:

Detoxifying foods

There are certain foods that are scientifically known to help detoxify our bodies. Try ingesting more of these foods to help detoxify:

  • Beets

  • Flax seed

  • Green tea

  • Apples

  • Green, leafy vegetables

These are just a few. Almost all fresh fruits and vegetables do help detoxify, as does fresh fish such as salmon, trout, halibut, etc.

But, the biggest detoxification agent of all is something many people neglect to get enough of…Water! Drinking plenty of water helps to flush your body of the toxins that have attempted to make a home.

Sweat

detoxI have heard people actually say they wish they didn’t sweat. The first temptation I have is to tell them if they did not sweat, they would die.

Sweating is a primary way the body naturally rids itself of toxins. There are a couple of ways to help the body in this method:

Exercise

Be it running, walking, biking, lifting weights or any other type of exercise, we are building muscles and getting in shape, and we are also helping to rid the toxins from our bodies. When we exercise, we sweat.

Sauna

Whenever I sit in a sauna for a short period of time, I feel the toxins just seeping from my body. A great example is how our bodies react when we have the flu. Our temperatures rise so we sweat out the poisons that are generating the flu virus.

Charcoal

No, I am not talking about grilling hamburgers, even though we use charcoal for that too. No, just before exercise or a sauna session, taking a couple of activated charcoal pills can maximize the erasure of toxins from your body. Activated charcoal attaches to the toxins and pulls them free from your body.

Glutathione

If you are going to take a supplement for detoxifying, make sure to take Glutathione. It has been proven to rid the body of heavy metals.

Fasting

Fasting is a great way to rid the body of toxins. By not ingesting food for a period of time, the body will resort to burning fat cells where the toxins have attached themselves.

ProBiotics

Taking Probiotics can be quite helpful in ridding your body of the toxins. These Probiotics actually create “good bacteria” that defeats “bad bacteria.”

Do some cutting

Things such as fried foods, white bread, and flour, donuts and cakes, etc… are actually adding toxins to your body. By cutting out these items, you are not only helping your weight loss goals, you are actually cutting some of the toxins from your body.

Try to say no to antibiotics

Some people have come to the belief that taking antibiotics will cure their ailments. While they may cure an immediate issue, the long-lasting effects can be dangerous. By taking antibiotics, we shut down the body’s natural abilities to rid our body of toxins, viruses and “bad bacteria.”

Try using natural methods instead of antibiotics. It may take a bit longer, but it is safer for you and your long-term health.

Final Thoughts

These are a few of the safe ways to detoxify. I even suggest picking 1 day per month and making it a “body cleansing day.” Eat and drink only detoxifying foods all day. Do a sauna and sweat it out.

I must also mention that you should try to avoid known contamination. If you see someone smoking while you are walking through the park, cross the road. If you live in an area with heavy vehicle exhaust, buy an air filter, and you may consider wearing a face mask.

By being proactive, you are sure to add years to your life, and you will feel better.
